In case you were wondering, here is a little bit about Mr. Sterken.
My wife, Erika, and I were married in 2007. I can not believe how fast the time seems to be going by. She is wonderful, and we are looking forward to many more years of marriage. We both like to travel and we have both spent part of our lives living in different countries. I think it is our faith and our adventurous spirits that make each day fun.
We have two sons (born in 2008 and 2015) and four daughters (born in 2011, 2013, 2017, 2019). Our family enjoys spending time outside, hiking, running, going to the playground, and (sometimes) camping. We also enjoy reading a good book, especially on a rainy day.
I started teaching at North Godwin in 2015. Before coming to North, I taught at a nearby school for 8 year. I have also taught in Chicago, Illinois; Taipei, Taiwan; Comstock Park, Michigan; Okinawa, Japan; and Manila, Philippines. I’ve worked with kids of all ages and have always had a focus on teaching science. I like to help kids discover, learn, and grow.
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in elementary education and general science and I recently finished a master's degree in educational leadership at Cornerstone University.
